Prep Time: 15 min Cook Time: 10 min Ready in: 25 min
Ingredients
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.Let the dough stand in the frig for at least 30 minutes. Roll our dough and shape cookies with Christmas Tree cookie cutter. Spray your cookie sheet with cooking spray and place cookies onto cookie sheet.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
Icing: Any store bought white icing will do. I prefer Betty Crocker Fluffy White Icing. Place icing in a bowl and add a couple of drops of green food coloring.
Once you’ve spread the icing on your cookie it’s time to decorate your tree!
Tree stem: Pecans worked great for the tree stems!
As far as what to put on your tree-anything goes! For my tree I crushed peppermints and sprinkled them onto the cookie! (place a few peppermints in a baggie(double bagged) and crush them with a hammer!
Now wasn’t that easy?
Stay tuned for another Christmas peppermint treat…..
~See you next time!
